Irpin Municipal Community Recovery Plan

The Irpin Municipal Community Recovery Plan is the first document of its level of detail in Ukraine, providing an analysis and assessment of the city’s damages, including specific addresses of buildings, the number of residents, and the cost of reconstruction. It also includes projects for the reconstruction of social facilities and an investment plan. It can serve as a model for other cities in need of recovery.

This document compiles the most significant events organized by the IRS team or where the project was presented. These events include presentations in Milan, Rome, Warsaw, London, fundraising events, and meetings with the Irpin community. Based on comprehensive information on traffic flows on all streets and roads in the city, as well as geospatial data on those streets and roads, the possibilities of the city’s road network were identified. Using the principles and methodology of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Ticon algorithms, a concept was developed to fully meet the transportation needs of the city, with a focus on automobile traffic.

Irpin Community Bicycle Concept

The Irpin Community Bicycle Concept aims to develop and implement a strategic plan for the development of bicycle infrastructure and promotion of bicycle culture in the city. It includes various aspects such as bicycle routes, location of bike parking facilities, cyclist safety, and other important considerations. The concept serves as a strategic plan that defines the directions for the development of bicycle infrastructure and contributes to improving the quality of life for residents of the Irpin community, promoting a healthy lifestyle, reducing traffic congestion, and mitigating the negative impact of motorized transport on the environment.

Survey and Framework Document for the Master Plan

This framework document for the planning process includes approaches, priorities, physical characteristics, and the proposed process developed by the Gensler team. “Future Restoration for Ukraine” was developed in close coordination with the local government of Irpin, including Mayor Oleksandr Markushin and Volodymyr Karplyuk (Chairman of the IRS working group). The team also collaborated with the Irpin community to conduct a survey, which provided insights from the perspective of the city’s residents. A network of global and local stakeholders and partners participated in reviews and contributed their input to this document through a series of meetings and dialogues.
